About Goxhill Meadows

Humans can experience a multitude of benefits when being fully present in the moment with horses. Our equine-facilitated therapeutic sessions enable individuals to have time and space to be at one with nature and find peace within themselves. Time with our ponies provides the opportunity to remember what it is to be a human “being” rather than a human “doing” which can bring a sense of profound calm. Equine-facilitated sessions provide individuals with the opportunity to feel more grounded, to re-connect with their authentic selves and to consider the purpose and direction of their lives. Clients are supported to work through problematic issues or difficult stages in their lives and to have the opportunity to explore a more positive way forwards.

Working in partnership with horses has been shown to help on many different levels: deepen personal awareness, increase confidence and self esteem, develop a better understanding of emotions and how to regulate them, help to identify and create boundaries, transform negative core beliefs, provide support for people recovering from the effects of trauma, depression and anxiety.

Goxhill Meadows have worked successfully with many children and adults with a variety of needs - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, learning difficulties, eating disorders, those living with and beyond cancer, and those who have been bereaved. We have received very positive feedback on the impact of our tailored sessions from many of our clients who have felt that their experiences here have supported their wellbeing. For some people who we have supported have told us that their experiences with us has been life-affirming and life-changing.
